I want to thank all residents for your support during the Mayoral election, I am
incredibly thankful for the trust you have put in me, I will work relentlessly to deliver
for all residents of North Tyneside, to make our borough an even better place to live,
work and visit.
I will continue to build on the strong legacy of Dame Norma Redfearn. I want to finish the regeneration of North Shields and Whitley Bay and get on with regenerating
Wallsend and the North West. I want to see more affordable and social housing built.
I want to increase the number of jobs at a decent level of pay.
I will expand our skills provision and increase opportunities for our young people.
And I want to retain our libraries, parks and leisure centres. I want to see a clean,
green and safe borough, so we’ll have teams out around the borough, tackling litter
and fly tipping, cleaning up graffiti and vandalism and working with the police and
housing teams to tackle this behaviour as well as other antisocial behaviour.
