Sand Park on the Marden Estate is at last getting some investment with a new roundabout on order. Last year we got together with residents to “Paint The Park” and it’s great to see this culminate in some hard cash coming through from the council.
The new roundabout will bewheelchair accessible, to the same specification as one up at Marmion Terrace in Whitley Bay. They are great for older kids who want to be able to jump on and off and come up with their own ways to play.
Marden Estate is seeing other investment projects with footway resurfacing this year, tree planting at multiple sites and investment in better crossing facilities next to Marden High.
